I have drastically altered my diet over the past eighteen months in an attempt to overcome some of my digestive and health issues. I enjoy what I eat, however, on occasion, I do miss “junk” food. Ten days ago, for me, taking the Via Rail to Toronto was like taking the Orient Express to Salzburg way back in October, 1968. I couldn’t help but remember that journey forty years ago, as the Via train rumbled down the tracks. Back then, my friend Rosalind Amor and I were taking a few days off work from our jobs at the Pestalozzi Children’s Village in Switzerland. We were headed to Salzburg, Austria to explore this ancient city and see the sites. It was an adventure I’ll never forget. We visited so many of the places that had been featured in the movie, “The Sound of Music”. Now, here I was, all these years later, taking the Via to Toronto to see the stage play “The Sound of Music” and remembering that other voyage so long ago. Continue Reading…

Eating a special diet, in order to deal with food sensitivities and allergies, is a very difficult and demanding task. At home, we can gradually put into place the tools and ingredients that will help us achieve our goals. The minute we walk out the door of our home into the big, wide world, all bets are off.
